Pre-Transfer Advising

Pre-Transfer Advisors assist students with academic planning, including course selection, estimating time to UMD graduation, and major and career exploration. Pre-Transfer Advising is available to prospective students.

Students are encouraged to use the service to assess their readiness to transfer, but it is not a requirement for admission. Pre-Transfer Advising is most helpful for students at Maryland Community Colleges and who are at least one year from transferring. To view the makeup of successful transfer applicants, see the admitted transfer student profile.

Please note that questions regarding the admission process including deadlines, academic requirements. and the application to the University of Maryland should be directed to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (by e-mail, telephone at 301.314.8385, or in person on the ground floor of the Mitchell Building).
